The family of Matthew Carl Meibos, known to many as Matt, is mourning his death in Orem, Utah, on September 11, 2026. He was 34 years old.

Matthew was born on October 1, 1991, in Orlando, Florida, to Jerold Irwin and Leticia Marie Meibos. He was remembered by those close to him as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Remembering Matthew Carl Meibos

Matthew built his life in Orem with his wife, Erica Nichole Gebert, whom he married on January 7, 2017, at the Provo City Center Temple.

Together, they had two children, Frank Milton and Mae Joan. His family described him as a devoted father who cared deeply about his children and placed them at the center of his life.

Music was also an important part of Matthew’s life. He was a talented drummer and instrumentalist who performed with local bands. He especially enjoyed making music alongside his wife.

A Passion for Cars and Mechanics

Matthew developed a strong interest in automobiles from an early age. After graduating from Timpview High School in 2010, he went into the automotive field and became a certified automotive technician.

Family and friends remembered him as someone who was always willing to help when someone had a problem with a vehicle. His knowledge of cars and mechanics became an important part of his life.

He also enjoyed racing, performance vehicles and off-road adventures. He spent time exploring Utah’s outdoors, including the red-rock trails around Moab.

Matthew Meibos Funeral and Celebration of Life

A celebration of life for Matthew Meibos is scheduled for September 26, 2026, at Rock Canyon Park in Provo, Utah.

Family, friends and others who knew Matthew will have an opportunity to come together and remember his life, the people he loved and the interests that brought him happiness.
