The baseball community is mourning the death of former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Brian Wolfe, who died on September 15, 2026, at the age of 45.

After his time with the Blue Jays, Wolfe continued playing professional baseball in Japan.
From 2010 through 2018, he pitched for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and Saitama Seibu Lions.
During his Japanese career, Wolfe recorded a 56–40 record with a 3.43 ERA in 167 Nippon Professional Baseball appearances.
He was also part of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks teams that won consecutive Japan Series championships in 2014 and 2015.
